Since 2019, and thanks to the support from the European Commission, OpenNebula Systems has been leading the edge computing innovation in Europe, investing heavily in research and open source development, and playing a key role in strategic EU initiatives such as the IPCEI-CIS and the “European Alliance for Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud”.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced communications leader to develop and execute the global communications strategy of the company. You will collaborate with the functional teams to develop the go-to-market messaging, content, and assets to drive awareness and accelerate revenue growth for cloud-edge solutions targeting multiple market segments. Experience in corporate communications, marketing and project management in the technology sector are important qualities. Your enthusiasm and positive attitude will help you gain the trust of colleagues and external parties alike.
What you will do
General Responsibilities: As mentioned in the offer and agreed with management board:
- Conduct competitive analyses of both commercial offerings and open source projects in the cloud & edge infrastructure market.
- Understand the strategic and business context we are operating in and use this knowledge to collaboratively define integrated product solutions and marketing campaigns that address the cloud-edge management and orchestration needs in key sectors.
- Drive awareness and demand for OpenNebula offerings through marketing programs and communications plans such as press releases, blogs, media campaigns, and other communication strategies.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on similar industry activities; make recommendations based on findings/opportunities discovered.
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with the product’s development, business, and community teams to identify internal and external customer needs and oversee the development of strategies and implementation plans to execute comprehensive marketing and communication campaigns.
- Evaluate the ROI of communication activities and develop plans for improvement.
- Work closely with key business partners to understand their initiatives and target audiences and develop joint campaigns, events and enablement programs.
- Support internal communication actions, and assist in disseminating corporate strategies or messages from senior leadership throughout the whole company.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with IT-tech journalists and media outlets, acting as a key contact for media engagement.
- Develop, manage, and supervise promotional materials, such as commercial presentations, blogs, how-to videos, papers, articles, etc. to ensure a consistent image, tone, and message.
- Oversee all content initiatives to ensure brand and tone consistency, as well as community engagement.
- Coordinate the contributions (both internal and external) to our Community Blog, managing the lifecycle of all content assets related to OpenNebula.
- Create non-technical content for a variety of platforms and channels (including blogs, websites, and social media).
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) in Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics, or related area.
- 3+ years in communications or marketing, preferably within PR/marketing agencies or with direct IT-tech media engagement. A strong understanding of the cloud industry and open source technologies is a significant advantage.
- Established contacts with IT-tech journalists and media outlets are a significant plus.
- Proven expertise in speech writing, messaging, and creating compelling talking points.
- Strategic mindset with a deep understanding of B2B technology, current events, and business trends in the global cloud market.
- Sound judgment and ability to balance short- and long-term priorities with discipline.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates calm adaptability to change.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with external agency partners to maximize impact.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
- Outstanding organizational and planning abilities.
- Proficient command of English.
